Queensland Arrowroot
Better known as Canna Lily throughout Europe, despite the fact they are more closely related to bananas. Cultivated primarily as a food crop in India and warmer parts of the Americas, where young roots are eaten like potatoes or made into flour. The blooms too are edible, adding a tropical flavour to salads. Sadly plants are usually harvested before they can flower.
